Riders In The Sky with Sons of the Pioneers in Historic Opry Performance

Last night’s Grand Ole Opry featured an “Opry Moment” for the ages, as the legendary Sons of the Pioneers joined Riders In The Sky for a rollicking western music jam.

“The Pioneers are our heroes, our friends, and inspired us to begin singing western music,” said Ranger Doug in his introduction. The Pioneers performed “Ghost Riders in the Sky,” and “Tumbling Tumbleweeds” to great acclaim before the Ranger called them back onstage to help close the Riders’ portion of the Opry with the Johnny Bond classic “Cimmaron, Roll On.”

“You just took it to the stratosphere,” commented a guy in a snappy blazer backstage.

“I just played bass with the Sons of the Pioneers!” enthused Too Slim. “Bucket list….check!”
